Double and triple check before you hit SEND

Folks when you are paying someone by EFT, please please please please double and triple check you have their account details correct before you hit send. For the 3rd time in two weeks, we have been sent a refund debt to collect meaning that someone has been paid accidentally and haven’t given it back. This one was a nightclub which paid their cleaning supplier instead of their landlord, because both their names started with “The…..”. Cleaning company acknowledged the mistake, promised to repay it immediately and 9 months later still hasn’t. We will get it back for them, that isn’t in doubt, but a business relationship is now ruined, the nightclub has struggled for cashflow since, a cleaning company has spent money that wasn’t theirs and all because of an innocuous typo.
