Morning everyone and Happy Friday to you all.
Today we are going to talk about discounting. You probably think there is no one in the world who deserves a discount LESS than the customer who is dodging you and continually not paying, however sometimes offering to help them save some money is all it takes to get you paid. What you need to do is work out your break even point, and look at how much profit you are willing to forgo. Sometimes just knocking off $100 will motivate them to pay- obviously this should only be used as a last resort as offering discounts sets a bad precedence, however if you are at the end of your tether and either ready to send the account to a debt collector, or write it off, then email the customer offering a discount which is for that day only. At that stage, the discount should be the amount it will cost you to sue them or the cost your debt collector will charge. You would be shocked at how effective offering even a very small discount can be, and as I always say- something is always better than nothing.
Cheers
