Hi everyone! So I must admit, I am a very late convert to the awesomeness that is XERO. My absolute favourite feature though, without question, is the auto invoice reminders. For anyone that doesn’t know, XERO will email your customers for you when their invoice is 7, 14 or 21 days overdue, and I believe you can also amend this to as many days as you like. There are so many reasons why this function is awesome, and the top 3 in my opinion are:
1. It is impersonal and automated- Guys this is so good for people who are afraid to send their own reminders, worried that it is too soon. And trust me- I know this is a big problem for many. The customer is reminded to pay, and often will, but there is no emotion involved as it was an automated computer program who reminded them, not you. You can just blame XERO if they crack it!
2. It is a reminder. You would be shocked at how many small businesses send the invoice and do absolutely nothing else. No follow up. No phone calls. No reminders. And they wonder why they don’t get paid.
3. You can amend the reminders to say whatever you like. I love this. The 7 day reminder should be very softly softly. The 14 day- a little more stern, and the 21 day should be the final notice, explaining that if payment is not made, further action will be taken.
